Abstract. The article highlights the development of international activities at the National Technical University of Ukraine ‘Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’ (KPI) during 2024 and early 2025, situating them within the broader challenges of martial law and global turbulence. It outlines the university’s strategic priorities in its international sphere: intensifying cooperation with European and global partners, expanding agreements with universities and high-tech companies, and deepening participation in international alliances and associations.
KPI has strengthened its role as a representative of Ukraine in the global academic and research space through projects in defence technologies, cyber security, humanitarian demining, biomedical engineering, and cloud innovation. The article outlines increased interaction with diplomatic missions, global corporations, and foreign delegations. Particular attention is paid to the university’s integration into European university networks, which foster the adoption of EU research and education strategies and support Ukraine amid russian aggression.
KPI’s modernisation of educational programmes responds to wartime needs and postwar reconstruction. Research priorities have shifted towards aviation, AI, materials science, electronic warfare, and space technologies. The article also records substantial humanitarian support and infrastructure upgrades secured through partnerships, such as supercomputing equipment, renewable energy installations, and advanced laboratories. Concluding, the authors emphasise that KPI’s international mission underpins Ukraine’s resilience, post-war recovery, and Euro-Atlantic integration, reaffirming its 127-year tradition of combining academic excellence with national service.
